The Cintas Corporation's first aid and safety plant in Portland, Oregon, has received Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star certification from the state's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

VPP Star is OSHA's highest recognition for commitment to occupational safety and health. OSHA officials commended the Cintas Portland plant for dedication to the programme and recognised it as a leader and example for other businesses.

Cintas, which provides businesses with a wide range of specialised services, including health and safety programmes, operates more than 400 facilities in North America, including six manufacturing plants and eight distribution centres. Around 10% of Cintas' locations have achieved the VPP star, with another 271 locations in the process of VPP certification.
