Ventress is currently president of Staples International but he will join the Davis Service Group on 1 November 2009 to allow time for a comprehensive handover before taking up his full responsibilities on 1 January 2010.
Ventress has spent the last 10 years in the office products distribution industry and has held senior management positions in Europe and Canada with Corporate Express NV becoming its chief executive in 2007.
In 2008, Staples acquired Corporate Express and Ventress was appointed head of all Staples' activities outside the USA and Canada.
