3 March 2010

Giving its preliminary results on Friday 26 February, the group said its profit before tax, goodwill and one-off items was £91.7million, a slight increase from £91.3m in 2008.

Annual revenue rose by 2% to £970.9m from £953.9m the previous year, positively impacted by foreign exchange translation of £49.3m. At constant rates, revenue fell by 3%.

Christopher Kemball, chairman of Davis Service Group, said it was "a good set of results against a difficult economic background".

The company has also announced the appointment of Iain Ferguson, former chief executive of Tate and Lyle, along with the former CEO of Nelson Sofres David Lowden and Andrew Wood as non-executive directors, with effect from 1 March 2010. The company said Philip Rogerson and René Schuster would step down from the board at the same time.
