The group has acquired the Norwegian and Swedish mat businesses of the facility provider ISS. It has also entered a strategic partnership with ISS under which Davis will provide mat services to ISS's customer base across the Nordic region.
Davis has also further strengthened its position in the German workwear market by buying the workwear business of Klarner, a privately owned company based near Cologne.
The group expects both acquisitions to provide a modest increase in earnings during 2010 and to meet return targets from 2011.
Chief executive Peter Ventress said that the Davis Service Group continues to focus on increasing the sections of its business that offer the highest growth and margin opportunities. Facility services and workwear are both high growth sectors in Continental Europe and Germany and Scandinavia are strategically important regions.
