Böwe has developed what it says is “by far the most advanced and sophisticated computer control on a drycleaning machine anywhere in the world today”. At Böwe’s UK distributor, general manager Ian Hearle said: “With clear text display in up to eight different languages and in real time, the CS3000 allows the operator, with management authority of course, total flexibility in processing and control.” The CS3000 is supplied with a set of standard programs, which may, if necessary, be adapted to an individual business’s particular requirements. Additional programs may be written. The system has an optional remote function with which an operator may control the machine using a telephone line connection. A modem and a software package is all that is needed, says Böwe. This type of access is useful for programming, upgrades, data transfer, central coordination of a a set of machines and fault diagnosis. The system can be used as a process selection point, with simple notations describing each machine process and function, and giving instant information about the status of the machine. It also offers programming facilities, production data, statistical information, routine maintenance schedules, error information and so on.
