Drycleaning rap video wins DLI contest

18 June 2014

A video showing two young men rapping in praise of drycleaning has won $5,000 in a video contest launched earlier this year by the Drycleaning & Laundry Institute.

The video "I feel great when I get my clothes drycleaned" was produced by professional videographer, David Goehring and his friend Matt Austin, who also appears in the video. It not only promotes the drycleaning concept but also the services of DLI members.

DLi also awarded prizes of $100 to two other videos:"The Magical World of Drycleaning" and "Fresh Press".

The contest was developed by DLI district 2 director Dave Beatty of Murrysville Cleaners in Pennsylvania. Beatty was impressed by the number of videos showing younger people and thought that this made the message more personal and powerful.

DLI received a total of 23 videos and declared the contest a great success. It is urging cleaners to post them on their business's websites.
