Ecolab has re-organised its worldwide Textile Care division and made two key appointments to the division's leadership. The company said that the changes, which have been implemented over the past 12months, would help to bring fresh drive and vision its textile care operation.

Senior vice president and general manager Mike Johannsen now runs the textile care business unit on a global basis, working from the headquarters in St. Paul, Minnesota. Johannsen has been with Ecolab for 26 years and worked in a variety of senior roles.

Sam de Boo, vice president and general manager, Textile Care has been leading the European division since December 2012 and is based in Zurich. He brings extensive international business experience to the team, having lived and worked in a variety of commercial roles in Europe and Southeast Asia.

De Boo and Johannsen are working to renew Ecolab's customer focus, investing in radical technologies and combining superior cleaning solutions with unmatched personal service to help customers optimise the total performance.

Johannsen's global Textile Care Team consists of more than 800 people in five continents. A total of 550 field service staff support customers worldwide. In Europe, 220 field service people performed more than 40,000 service visits on site at laundries in the last year alone.
