Electrolux Professional gains HACCP certification

18 June 2014

Electrolux Professional has become the first laundry equipment manufacturer to gain HACCP certification.

The HACCP system (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) represents a preventative approach to managing safety in the food chain, ensuring there are no weak links that could contaminate food.

Electrolux Professional with its Line 5000 machines has met the challenge of developing equipment and processes that meet HACCP standards.

Richard Mallet, managing director HACCP Europe, said: "The Certification awarded to Electrolux Professional is usually reserved for food service equipment so this is a milestone for manufacturer. It re-affirms the crucial role that laundry equipment can have in contamination control, helping to prevent outbreaks and illness across the globe."
