Fishers sells cleanroom business to Fenland

Scottish textile services company, Fishers has sold its Livingstone-based cleanroom business to Fenland Laundries of Lincolnshire, a leading supplier of cleanroom and decontamination services under the Micronclean brand.

The acquisition is for an undisclosed sum and the transaction is subject to clearance by the Competition and Markets Authority.

In a joint statement, the companies said that the acquisition is in line with Fenland's plans to expand its Microclean business. Both the Livingstone base and all 46 jobs will transfer to Fenland and become its Scottish hub.

The sale of its cleanroom operation will allow Fishers to focus on its textile rental/laundry business and on serving the hospitality market in Scotland and the North of England.
