Fred Butler textile cleaning service opens its doors

25 May 2006

The stores offer drycleaning in liquid carbon dioxide with shirt washing as an additional service.

Andreas Klensch, CEO of the Fred Butler Group, said: “By the end of the year, we want to have established in Germany three cleaning facilities, ten shops and 100 office-service depots.”

The opening is part of the relaunch by the Linde Group of its CO2 drycleaning business in Europe under the Fred Butler brand and replaces its former Hangers Europe business.

The Fred Butler operation will be a mix of group-owned shops and franchises, but in the initial phase, the majority will be group-owned. The first drop stations in Germany were opened in April in Frankfurt am Main.

Other drop stations have already been opened in the Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark.

Andreas Klensch said: “Thanks to numerous innovations, not only in cleaning technology but also in franchising, Fred Butler is in the position to redefine the market for textile cleaning.”

The group headquarters for the drycleaning business is based in Munich at Cleaning Enterprises GmbH and has a regional support office, Fred Butler Sweden AB in Stockholm.
