Girbau Industrial UK has expanded its engineering team with the appointment of Shane Weir as technical engineering manager.
The decision to strengthen the team follows the Girbau Group's agreement to collaborate with Lavatec, which was announced at Expo Detergo last year. Under this agreement Girbau has become the exclusive distributor of Lavatec equipment and spare parts in the UK.
Weir joins Girbau UK from Berendsen Group, where he was regional engineering manager. Before this he worked as a service engineer in the family business, H J Weir Engineering, for over 15 years.
Girbau UK's nationwide factory-trained engineering team now includes 25 commercial engineers and four industrial specialists.
