Grant will help bring Xeros nearly waterless washing to the home

1 March 2012

The Xeros process uses polymer beads to “attract” stains and needs only a fraction of the water, energy and detergent that is required for conventional washing.

A domestic system has always been a long-term aim but the commercial market was the first target.

After extensive testing and successful field trials in this sector, Xeros expects a complete and fully supported commercial system – machine, detergent and beads – to be available for sale to affirmation sites in the UK and possibly in the USA at the end of this year.

As well as valuing the commercial sector in its own right, the company sees acceptance by professionals in this market as essential in helping to build consumer confidence when the domestic system eventually becomes available.
