Green Earth yields good results

1 June 2000

Trials of the new GreenEarth drycleaning technology are now taking place in the UK, Parrisianne has confirmed. Excellent cleaning results have already been obtained in the trials with both general textiles, suedes and leathers.

Evaluation of spotting chemicals and detergents is underway to determine which are most compatible with the GreenEarth solvent.

The trials have shown that the drying time with the solvent is 20% less than that required with hydrocarbon. It is about the same as that needed with perc equipment.

Being used for the trials is a 40lb capacity GreenEarth machine, introduced to the UK by Parrisianne and Union. The trials are being conducted in a true working environment as the company is cleaning garments from retail drycleaning shops.

GreenEarth technology has been developed in the United States and utilises a silicone-based solvent.
