GreenEarth earns tax cut in Ilinois

30 April 2007

Drycleaning businesses that previously used perc or hydrocarbon will now pay US$1.75 per gallon, rather than US$10 which is the rate charged for perc.

Businesses that have never used or stored chlorine-based or petroleum-based solvents will pay only 35cents per gallon.

GreenEarth cleaning's chairman Jim Barry says that the tax savings will be important to its Illinois retailers and their customers, but more importantly this is another example of independent environmental agencies validating the process. Retailers using the GreenEarth cleaning process have previously earned 12 different environmental awards, including citations from the EPA, and Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Pennyslvania and Wisconsin.
