Guild plans exam for laundry engineers

24 March 2005

The exam and certificate are intended for those working at hands-on rather than a management level.

Full details of the syllabus are not yet available as a draft is currently under discussion.

However LCN believes that it could cover specific equipment, such as washer-extractors, tumble dryers, ironers, and garment finishing equipment and also topics such as utilities, the environmental aspects of the laundry, and health and safety.

Approved training courses, run by various providers, should also be available.
