Guild plans project to identify quality drycleaning businesses

9 April 2009

The scheme would cover all aspects of a drycleaning business, including staff, operating methods, equipment and its maintenance, health and safety and legislation.

The project, which will in effect “licence” drycleaners who meet a satisfactory standard throughout their operation, will be run on a self-funding basis, with retail outlets and collection points paying a subscription.

The revenue from these subscriptions will be used to advertise the scheme and pay for administration. In addition members will have to pay a charge for site inspection, which will be calculated on an individual basis.
