Hanover Housing renews laundry service contract

30 September 1998

Hanover Housing Association, which has laundries at over 96 sheltered housing sites across Scotland, recently renewed, for a sixth consecutive year, a comprehensive service contract with Electrolux Laundry Systems.

Providing sheltered accomodation for elderly people, the 4497 dwellings managed by Hanover Housing are located throughout Scotland. These sites offer extra facilities with costs met from a monthly service charge.

The size of the laundries vary, with between one and four washer-extractors and the equivalent number of tumble dryers. Residents have free access to the equipment and are able to use it as and when they need to.

Ron Sewell, Hanover’s building services engineer, commented: “The service contract with Electrolux Laundry Systems allows Hanover to provide our elderly residents with the efficient laundry service they expect.

“As our contract involves a single point of contact with Electrolux we are also able to reduce administration and keep costs to residents to a minimum. From a fiscal point of view a fixed contract means fixed service costs.” The current service contract value is £46 000 per annum.
