Compliance with health and safety rules and regulations is a legal requirement in all working environments, including busy laundries, said David Almond, Cherry Tree's health and safety manager, who is frequently approached by laundry managers for help and advice on safety issues in laundries.
“This is a completely free service to all our customers, " said Almond. “We visit our clients' laundries and carry out a basic inspection, which assesses the organisation's compliance with current regulations. If we identify areas of non-compliance, we inform them with a written report so they can consider whether to take further action."
