The Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council (HLAC) invited Infection Preventionists (IPs) attending APIC 2018 to visit its stand to learn more about HLAC's expertise and standards for helping healthcare facilities to prevent the contamination of healthcare textiles (HCTs). APIC 2018 is this year's annual conference of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology.

The conference takes place at the Minneapolis Convention Centre in Minneapolis, Minnesota, from 13 – 15 June. HLAC is a nonprofit organisation that inspects and accredits laundries processing textiles for hospitals, nursing homes and other healthcare facilities.

Recently, the industry-leading magazine Infection Control Today (ICT) published a series of articles directed at IPs to raise their awareness of the role healthcare laundry in infection prevention. The four articles are now available as a downloadable compendium "Where Healthcare Laundry and Infection Prevention Meet" - (registration required).
