HLAC signs up its 100th laundry

17 June 2010

HLAC's Patti Costello said that laundries that voluntarily seek accreditation show they understand the importance of continuous benchmarking and process improvement to assist patient safety by providing hygienically clean textiles to customers.

HLAC's aim is to publish high standards for processing healthcare textiles in laundries and to recognise those laundries that meet them.

Since HLAC's started its accreditation scheme in 2006, the council has seen a growing commitment to voluntarily achieving excellence and a much greater awareness of the role that healthcare textile processing plays in national patient safety goals.
