Hohenstein Institute opens Santo Domingo office

25 March 2010

Hohenstein has extended its representation in the Dominican Republic in response to increased demand for independent quality testing in the region with respect to the flow of goods to the USA. Such demand comes not only from textile and clothing manufacturers but also from buyers and trading companies.

As well as providing the full range of Hohenstein services, the new office will also be the official contact for the International Oeko-Tex Association.

It will focus on certifying textiles to Oeko-Tex Standard 100. This is particularly important for companies exporting children's products to the USA, since each Oeko-Tex certificate confirms that the tested article complies with the applicable CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) legislation with regard to lead.
