Hospital laundry conference returns to Scarborough

This year's speakers will include LCN contributor, Dr Richard Neale of the Laundry Technology who will address the "Management of resources".

The programme is still to be finalised but the conference starts with its traditional afternoon workshop - this year looking at the housekeeper's view with NHS executive, Julie Chapman on "The ward housekeeper initiative" , and a speaker from the UK Housekeepers Association.

In addition to Dr Neale's talk, the Wednesday programme will include a speaker from the Institute of Sterile Services on "Decontamination in HSDU's" and Paul Gibson from Bolton General explaining "Performance indicators/benchmarking."

Thursday's subjects include "Linen stock management" and "Performance Fabrics". Norman Gill of SDML Consultancy and Training presents "The business case for new equipment" and Andy Proud, director of facilities at St James University Hospital, Leeds looks at "Performance management".
