19 January 2006

The healthcare laundry sector continues to debate current health service guidelines and the Tuesday afternoon session will discuss this with presentation on hygiene for linen services staff and Linen Standards – the implications, followed by an upadate on HSG (95)18.

Papers on Wednesday include Linen services — a national perspective, by Dr. Elizabeth Jones, the head of patient environment at the Department of Health. Mark Trout, Queens medical centre, and James Fisher, Healthtex Synergy, discuss market testing of a laundry contract the QMC way, followed by James Walker on the China syndrome.

Speakers on Thursday include Mike Palin on BTW’s safe system of access; Marcus Brindle, director, NHS PASA on the National Framework agreement for laundry services: and Paul Meads, operations director, Sunlight Services on the compliant processing of reusable theatre textiles. An exhibition will run for the three days of the conference. A gala dinner rounds off the social events on the Thursday evening.
