JLA acquires Mistcroft

1 November 1999

UK: Commercial Laundry distributor JLA continues its expansion by buying spares supplier Mistcroft.

The deal, completed on 9 October, increases JLA buying power still further and says the company will lead to better prices and a more efficient service for both Mistcroft and JLA customers.

JLA now has a parts stockholding in excess of £1.5million (US$2.4million) with over 12,000 lines.

In July this year, it acquired Sapphire Laundry Equipment, chiefly to gain Sapphire’s imported ironer range and engineering expertise.

Following the acquisition, Sapphire relocated to Greetland, W Yorkshire and now operates as Sapphire Equipment. John Swailes, previously JLA sales director is now MD and Geoff Spink has remained as technical director.
