JLA washers placed on water savings list

15 October 2013

JLA's Smart washer range has been accepted onto the Government-backed Water Technology List, having met the criteria that will allow Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) claims.

The Smart washers are listed in the "efficient commercial and industrial washing machines" category, which aims to help businesses save money in both the short- and long-term by encouraging investment in water-saving technology and equipment. The washers were the first products to be launched under JLA's Smart Technology banner.

To earn their official status as "efficient commercial and industrial washing machines", JLA's Smart 7.5kg to 30.5kg machines had to meet criteria that require equipment to automatically gauge the correct water level and detergent usage needed for a laundry load. The washers feature intelligent JLA Sense absorption technology to optimise the use of water without compromising quality.

The ECA water scheme is managed by the Defra and HM Revenue & Customs, (HMRC) in partnership with AEA Technology, an energy and climate change consultancy.
