John was greatly respected throughout the textile care industry.
His working life started as a cinema attendant, but he later became manager and then joined Loud & Western (now Sunlight) as shops manager.
John's hard work and patient nature earned him the position of general manager at Westerns Laundry in Drayton Park and it was here that he met his future wife, Rosemarie, with whom he was to share the rest of his life.
John later joined Neil and Spencer where he made many friends.
Helping to establish the Royal Jersey Laundry Group was the final achievement of his career and only a week before he passed away he was there offering valuable advice.
John was a true gentleman and honest friend to all who knew him and he will be sorely missed.
