Johnson sells Dimension

15 December 2000

The Johnson Service Group has sold the assets and businesss of Dimensions Corporatewear to a new company set up by Dimensions md, Simon Hughes, and the Gresham Trust.

The deal was completed at the beginning of December for £14.6million.

Johnson acquired Dimensions when it bought Semara Holdings in February 2000 Johnson's chief executive Richard Zerny said that the disposal of Dimensions was in line with his company's stated strategy at the time of the acquisition. He added that the integration of Semara was progressing extremely well.

Simon Hughes, told LCN that Dimensions, which designs, sources and sells corporatewear, was a leader in its sector and needed to invest in its future.

He explained that since the completion of the deal, the company had already embarked on a programme of capital expenditure. This would not have been possible under the Johnson banner as the company did not fit into Johnson's core business.
