Kent dryers prove a smart choice for Hackney plant

4 October 2002

Two Kent 110kg dryers, made by MD Laundry Machines, have more than met expectations at OCS Smarts' Hackney plant.

Sandy Sayandan, engineering manager at the plant specified dryers that would produce maximum output with a low processing cost, and occupy minimum floor space.

A review of the dryers' operation seven months after the installation found that they had more than fulfilled these requirements. Each dryer processes over 250kg per hour of fully dried work.

The 110kg machines are part of a newly designed, large capacity range which covers models up to 250kg to 300kg.

MD Laundry Machines can supply the large capacity tumblers in versions for batch transfer, with the load discharged through a rear door, or for single load/unload with a tilt for unloading. The dryers are fitted with state of-the art controls and include a programmable end-point system, which uses temperature or relative humidity, to optimise the drying process. Generous volume/load ratios and large drum diameters ensure efficient tumbling action with maximum air penetration.

On both stand alone or batch transfer designs the doors can be fitted with a rotating inner surface to avoid damaging the load.
