Klopman International, the manufacturer of workwear and casual wear fabrics, is expected to move from USA-based ownership into European hands.
An agreement has been signed by Klopman's north American parent Galey & Lord and a European investment group, led by BS Private Equity and including MPS Venture and Klopman senior management.
The sale is expected to be completed within 60 days of signing, pending regulatory approvals.
The new ownership will allow Klopman to build on its position in the European market for poly-cotton blended fabrics. It has declared full confidence in the existing Klopman company management and employees.
The existing management structure and staff will remain unchanged and Klopman's senior management will have a financial interest in the new company and has said it will give the owners full support.
Giuseppi Rodino, president, Klopman International commented: "The change in ownership together with the declared commitment of our senior management will ensure the development of our business providing better service and greater value to our customers." In a separate move, Klopman has relaunched its website, going live on July 7.
The company says it was one of the first textile manufacturers to recognise the importance of the net as a business tool.
The redesigned site takes on board recent advances in web technology to provide customers with a comprehensive and easy to navigate information source.
The site will have a large amount of dynamic content which will be continuously updated.
It also introduces several additional features: • detailed specifications for all fabrics, including pop-up graphics to show the colours available • a quick search function with links directly to specs for individual fabrics • an expanded and updated series of case studies explaining high profile applications • a selector guide to help customers choose fabrics for specific industry uses, which summarises the most relevant choices and can be downloaded • a section dedicated to fabrics for the healthcare sector.
