Laundry partnership gives independents more power

26 January 2001

The NLP will be headed by John Shonfield, (Coverstyle, Holmfirth) as chairman. Mike Kemp and Trevor Carter (Bentleys Doncaster) will be director and treasurer.

To date twenty laundries employing more than 1000 have expressed interest in the organisation.

NLP will use the combined buying power of its members to cut their internal costs and will tender for national contracts by providing a personal service with consistent quality across the member companies.

Prospective members have the option of paying a monthly subscription with the option of taking the basic package and buying in specialist services when needed.

John Shonfeld said “ Companies looking for a laundry service have turned to one of the top five laundry giants. We want to provide a partnership that gives us the opportunity to compete more effectively while offering customers the benefits that independent laundries can bring."
