Law must be obeyed

7 April 1998

Members of the National Association of the Launderette Industry have been reminded in the current issue of NALI’s journal, Launderette and Cleaning World, of their obligation to ensure that an engineer engaged to service their gas appliances holds a current CORGI certificate of competence to carry out the work. A non-complying launderette owner/operator taken to court can expect, at the least, to be fined.

Launderette owner/operators who do not contract out thei#r equipment maintenance work but do it themselves are warned that anyone working on gas-powered equipment has to be CORGI registered. That is the law—there are no exceptions.
