LSG makes Panama City its base for the USA heavy-duty market

19 July 2005

Jensen USA will move from its home in Fortmill, North Carolina and Futurail manufacturing will move from its present home in the UK to the USA to allow it to take full advantage of the opportunities in the American market.

A number of UK staff will move with the Futurail division, including general manager Simon Nield. A support team will remain in the UK to service customers in Europe.

A phased move will take place from January to June 2006. The Panama City factory, which currently manufactures Eltron washers will be extended and will then cover other washing machine manufacture.

The USA is the largest market for heavy-duty equipment and by grouping its operation in one base, LSG will be better placed to expand from its current strong position. The addition of the Futurail staff will add to the expertise of its current operation and allow LSG to cater for the increasing automation demand by the USA's heavy-duty sector.
