German-based pressing and forming equipment manufacturer,Veit has opened a sales-support office in Brighouse, West Yorkshire.
Dirk Töwe, group managing director, said “The UK was our first ever overseas sales-agency 27 years ago. Now the UK company is the newest wholly-owned distributor joining those in France, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Singapore. He said the company was not too concerned about the current situation surrounding the UK’s clothing manufacturing industry. “We are very positive about our UK prospects,” he said.
However, the recent announcement of closures in the UK garment industry will make life tougher for Veit UK’s new director, Mike Matenczuk. Mike told LCN that his business plan is to provide everything from complete turnkey installations to simple basic equipment.
“People always appreciated quality. It has become a tough business but we have confidence in the products and in the company’s philosophy of putting the customer first. Our service will be second to none, with six month guarantees on all new parts installed. Whether we are working on huge installations, such as we have done for Next, or supplying just a small boiler and ironer, we provide the same quality of service,” he said.
