Mat production started speedily

Kleen-Tex Industries has established full scale production of its range of launderable mats in the UK faster than expected.

Peter Ostenfeld, managing director, says that full scale production of the whole Kleen-Tex range, apart from Jet Print Mats, was achieved at the beginning of March, eight weeks ahead of schedule—the Guardian Mats business and plant at Farnworth, Bolton, had been acquired in December.

“With the restructuring, the installation of new plant and new working procedures complete, it means we are now able to supply UK laundries with British made products and are no longer importing mats from our parent factories in the States,” he said.

“For the time being, we are importing Jet Print printed logo mats from the Kleen-Tex plant in Austria but evaluations of the technology and latest equipment is well under way and a decision on UK production will be reached shortly.”
