Mike Palin quits full time post after TSA strategy review

29 November 2002

The change is a result of a strategic review by the Association on the best way of providing business services to its members.

The TSA has concluded that while the need for expert advice will always remain, using an external team of consultants will allow it to provide this advice in an effective, but flexible and economic way. Further high profile announcements are to be expected.

Speaking to LCN about Mr Palin's new role with the association, chief executive Murray Simpson said: "Mike will still be the principle UK expert on operating theatre textiles. He will still, nominated by the Association, represent the British industry on standards committees, and be reporting to the TSA healthcare working party.

However his other projects on Standards have largely concluded and here the association role will change to a more informal one, advising businesses how the standards affect them.

Mr Palin told LCN that he was pleased he would be contining working with the TSA on healthcare standards but he would be also offering a wider consultancy to the whole of the industry which would include health and safety and utilities as well as healthcare issues.
