More duties for employers

The Health and Safety Commission (HSC) proposes to introduce a compulsory duty for companies to investigate all reportable work-related accidents, ill-health or ‘near-misses’ that have resulted in serious injury.

If every single reportable incident was investigated and acted upon, the country could save £1.8 billion a year in preventing further accidents.
