Moscow show pulls in 5600

Russia: The recently held Drycleaners and Laundry ‘99 exhibition in Moscow attracted an attendance of 5613 specialists, the event organising company Maxima has reported.

The exhibition, covering 2500

sq m, hosted 87 companies from

12 countries: Great Britain, Germany, Italy, France, Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, the Ukraine and Russia.

A significant opportunity to promote to the Russian drycleaning and laundering market areas was provided by the event, the first international, specialised show of its kind in Moscow. Visitors were able to view a wide range of drycleaning equipment, machines for small and medium sized laundry operations, plus chemicals and other products.

Additionally, information on equipment, systems and services for large scale laundering was available on some stands.

A scientific and practical conference was linked to the exhibition, and 48 reports were presented for over 200 participants.

The laundry industry in Russia is need of substantial updating, and the capital city remains the focal point for drycleaning growth.
