Changing roles at NALI

Bob Rawlinson is stepping down from his role as chairman of National Association of the Laundette Industry (NALI).

The association’s new chairman is Stephen Paul Stafford, managing director since 1985 of Bristol-based family business SJT Stafford.

Keith Lawson, managing director of Youngs Laundries of Brentford, will move into the role of chairman of the Launderette Owners London Association, succeeding David Tarlow.

A vice chairman of NALI, Mr Lawson has been involved with the launderette industry for more than 25 years. Youngs has 20 shops in west London.

Sales role for Johns

Badgemaster, the Nottingham-based manufacturer of garment identification tags and labels, has appointed Mr Steven Johns as its sales manager.

Mr Johns had worked for Canon (UK), where he was responsible for marketing that company’s range of digital colour printing and copying machines.

His current role will put him at the cutting edge of the healthcare and care home markets. “Badgemaster currently supplies over 500 independent care homes and some 150 NHS Trusts with its products,” Mr Johns said. He is aiming to double the number of badge sales in the UK.

Moves at PHS mat services

Lynne Vanes has been appointed managing director of the PHS Mat Services centre, based in Brentwood, Middlesex.

John Skidmore becomes the company’s financial director and Stephanie Hutchings its commercial director.

Terry Turner will take charge of the inter-counties region as manager of the Brentford branch.

Management changes

DiverseyLever, supplier of detergents and dosing systems, has changed the management responsibilities of several key people in its commercial laundry team.

As a result, Mr Steve Cox has been appointed regional manager for the South and West of England, while Mr Colin Stubbs becomes regional manager for the North of England and Scotland.

Both men have extensive knowledge of the company's products and equipment, including the Clax Diverflow range of central dosing and management information systems.

Mr Neil Hughes, DiverseyLever's laundry group director, explained that the two regional managers will also co-ordinate the activities of the company's customer support team, which includes technical and engineering specialists.

Better by design

Supertrack, the sorting systems specialist, has appointed Mr Jeff Healy as its sales design engineer. Mr Healy, a computer-aided design (CAD) specialist, has previously been responsible for developing systems for the large control panels used in supermarket freezer units and swimming pools.

In his new role, he will be involved with designing storage and retrieval systems working to detailed site surveys prepared by Supertrack's sales team.
