Mystery product from DiverseyLever will “prolong fabric life by a massive amount”

1 October 2001

DiverseyLever is to launch a new product at the World Textile Rental Congress in London this month (October). The company is staying tight lipped about what the product will be, but described it as a “completely new innovation” that will “prolong fabric life by a massive amount”.

Colin Stubbs, who heads up the laundry chemicals division, said it had been 10 years in development in association with Lever Bros, which makes Persil, and Unilever research. The product has been on trial at sites for the last two years.

Mr Stubbs said: “This is a revolutionary system, but as always other companies are launching what they see as an alternative. The technology they have is not new, but they are cleverly branding [their products] as new.” The new product “will have to be proved in each individual country before [it is] accepted,” said Mr Stubbs.
