PHS Group buys GP Hygiene

27 January 1999

Grimsby-based GP Hygiene Services has been acquired by the PHS Group in a deal which is set to strengthen PHS’s workplace business throughout the north of England.

GP Hygiene was established in 1990 and since that time, with a turnover exceeeding £300 000 and 12 employees, has developed an impressive customer base. The acquisition therefore proved to be an attractive proposition to the PHS Group, whose core activities include wash room services, tropical plants and dust mats.

Peter Cohen, chief executive of the PHS Group, said: “As part of our long term growth plans, we are constantly looking for successful companies whose activities complement our own and GP Hygiene proved a perfect fit.” Bill Phillipson of GP Hygiene said: “PHS is a dynamic company with big plans and its good news that we can now share in that bright future.”
