PLET signs landmark contract in the Middle East

3 November 2005

This is said to be the largest laundry supply contract concluded across the Middle East so far.

PLET’s laundry equipment will be part of ILS’ upcoming laundry development which has a built up area of 120,000ft2, in the Jebel Ali Industrial Area.

The laundry is being commissioned primarily to cater to the requirements of burgeoning hotels in the region. The total project cost is around AED40m for the first phase.

“For the past two years, ILS, PLET and Jensen Projects have carried out rigorous research into the technical, commercial, and procedural aspects before coming up with a blue-print for the project,” said Sreejith Narendran, sales manager, PLET.

According to Farooq Arjomand, director ILS: “The main reason for awarding the contract to PLET is because of its expertise in customising the European laundry machinery to suit the local environment.”
