Workers increasingly demand that their protective clothing (PPE) is comfortable to wear as well as providing the required protection according to a report from business information company Textiles Intelligence.

Comfort was once given scant priority by PPE designers but the report finds that the industry has been making strenuous efforts to find the right balance between comfort and the need for protection. The use of high performance fabrics with moisture management and thermal regulation properties has become widespread,

Other trends include the growth in the importance of design and fashion and a strengthening of commitment to sustainability throughout the supply chain, the report adds.
