Public and private partnerships find favour with Danes

In the hospital and nursing home sector many laundries have entered into joint agreements so now they are partly publicly owned and partly by a private company. Such partnerships have proved successful and the idea has largely replaced that of full outsourcing.

There has been one case of a fully-contracted out service, but this was discontinued at the end of the five year agreement and the clothes are now handled by a large hospital laundry.
