Reliant acquires Liberty Pittsburgh Systems

22 July 2010

Kevin Weir, Liberty Pittsburgh's former owner will remain with the company to head business development, marketing and sales operations.

New York-based Reliant is a leading provider of non-durable plastic and metal products, which it supplies to several industries.

Reliant's CFO Bob Siegel said that the company had immediately recognised that Liberty Pittsburgh's tags, forms and tracking systems made a huge contribution to the laundry, drycleaning and textile industries. He added that this business would be an ideal complement to the Reliant Group's established business and that the group could immediately offer expertise in all areas of the company's operation.

Reliant will undertake considerable reinvestment at the Grand Avenue Plant in Pittsburgh and will then introduce technology that will allow customers to gain real-time access to their order books, products and specifications and special product requests and also have direct telephone and electronic access to a dedicated customer service team.
