Subjects include Advanced Stain Removal, where students will work on stain removal techniques on a variety of fabrics; Advanced Professional Finishing to help develop individual pressing skills by working on complicated delicate items; and The Wedding Day, which covers processing and finishing wedding and bridesmaids' dresses and packaging for long-term storage.
In Challenging Garments and Fault Recognition, Satra experts Peter Beer and Pam Turbert will help drycleaners to recognise potential problems and avoid the pitfalls. This course will also include customer care, and handling complaints by explaining the problem to the customer. It will also explain how to compose a professional letter.
Satra is also introducing an advanced level Fibre to Fabric course, which will cover identification of fibres, description and identification of fabric types and garment construction.
All courses will take place at Satra's fully equipped drycleaning centre at Kettering and dates can be arranged to suit individual businesses.
