SATRA names new team leader for Fabric Care

27 January 2000

Christine Richardson is joining SATRA’s Fabric Care operation on March 1 and will take over as team leader when Alan Carter retires mid year.

Ms Richardson is already well known both in the industry and to SATRA members as she is a partner in the Drycleaning Technology Centre and as such has been working with SATRA as a consultant.

Commenting on the appointment, SATRA’s deputy chief executive Richard Turner said “Christine’s appointment not only strengthens our team but demonstrates quite clearly that we intend to further enhance our position over the coming years.” He praised Alan Carter’s work in promoting SATRA’s services to the trade and said that he had established a firm base for future development.

Mr Turner added that future plans would include better training courses, an enlarged research programme and also greater involvement with standards at EU level.

Richard Neale of the Drycleaning Technology Centre congratulated Christine on her new appointment and paid tribute to her contribution to the DTC.

He stresses that both the DTC and the Laundry Technology Centre would continue to operate from their Ilkley base.
