Silver Lining buys Recyper UK

30 October 2003

The deal is expected to result in lower costs for drycleaners as it will avoid duplication of collections and reduce transport needs.

With impending regulations coming into force across the EU in 2004, every business that produces hazardous waste will also have to be licensed. While the fees are not expected to be draconian, the regulations will certainly lead to extra bureauracy.

However, Silver Lining's WasteCare on-line service is already in place and the company says this will minimise the cost and administrative impact.

Recyper UK specialises in the collection of perc residue, which it then transports to its parent company's recycling unit in Belgium.

In contrast, Silver Lining, through its nationwide WasteCare service, provides a wide range of hazardous waste collection schedules for commercial, industrial and retail concerns.
