The award was presented at a ceremony hosted by the Illinois Sustainable Technology Centre (ISTC) last month.
The award is in its 27th year and the presentation to Solvair recognises the innovative research, business practices and initiatives made by the company and its 134year-old sister organisation, R R Street & Co in serving the drycleaning industry.
In a congratulatory letter, Illinois Governor Pat Quinn said: “Your organisation's commendable green practices serve as a model of environmental stewardship for residents, businesses, and institutions throughout our state.”
