Spirax Sarco meets pressure regulations

4 May 2002

Spirax Sarco has ensured that all products in its range of pressure equipment meet the Pressure Equipment Regulations which will become mandatory in the UK on May 29 2002.

The regulations implement the directive which applies throughout the European economic area. The requirements vary, according to the type of equipment, whether it is intended for liquids or gases and the classification of the intended contents.

Pressure equipment falls into five basic groups: vessels, piping, steam generators, safety accessories and pressure accessories.

Fluids and gases are divided into two, group 1 - explosive, flammable, toxic or oxidising and group 2 , all other fluids and gases including steam which is the primary medium for most Spirax Sarco products.
