Stretching the limits of comfort

Klopman International has announced the launch of Showstar. The new polyester/cotton stretch fabric, claimed by the manufacturer to be revolutionary, is designed for enhanced comfort and movement in work clothing.

Showstar, which is a 260 g/m2 65% polyester/35% cotton, offers a 10-14% weft stretch with a soft hand and is suitable for high temperature laundering.

Stretch fabrics are commonly found in apparel markets, and usually involve elastic fibre types, which makes them unsuitable for rigourous working conditions, where durability and performance are paramount.

Showstar is a mechanically-made comfort stretch fabric, designed for ease of movement rather than tight fit. No elastic fibre is used and the stretch retention is said to be retained throughout the fabric’s lifetime.

Showstar, says the manufacturer, also combines the comfort advantages of stretch with the colour and laundry performance of polyester/cotton.

During months of development, Showstar was rigorously tested by Klopman’s product development team and is now being used by some of France’s leading supermarket chains in comfort stretch garments.

As with all Klopman’s fabrics, Showstar is available in a comprehensive colour palette.
